Chief Financial Officer
Aaron Shimizu serves as the Chief Financial Officer at LuskinOIC, bringing a wealth of financial leadership and expertise. Before joining LuskinOIC, Shimizu held key roles at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), where he served as the Controller and Director of Finance. In these roles, he played a critical part in enhancing operational efficiency, maximizing revenue, and ensuring precise financial reporting. His leadership was particularly instrumental during the Covid-19 pandemic, where he adeptly managed cash flows and navigated complex financial challenges.
Shimizu’s career is marked by significant achievements, including spearheading the creation of the Financial Planning and Analytics Department at LuskinOIC in 2017. Under his guidance, the organization achieved a ranking among the top 15 pediatric programs by U.S. News & World Report. His extensive background also includes serving as Manager of Business Intelligence and Financial Improvement at CHLA, where his implementation of productivity metrics resulted in substantial labor savings.
Shimizu holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, San Bernardino, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). His deep financial acumen and strategic insights are invaluable to LuskinOIC, where he oversees all financial operations, including budgeting and financial planning, to further the institute’s mission of providing exceptional care to all children in need.
