Earlier this month, the LuskinOIC Foundation received a generous estate gift of $100,000 from the estate of Edyth Wagner-Roop. The gift honors her late husband, who was a LuskinOIC patient during his childhood.
Throughout his life, Frederick Crouch Roop faced ongoing orthopaedic challenges and received treatment at various hospitals, but he and Mrs. Wagner-Roop never forgot the compassionate care provided by LuskinOIC. When it came time to plan their estate, they chose to give back to the institutions that had made the greatest impact.
Thanks to their generosity, this $100,000 gift will be applied toward the purchase of a new MRI machine in our Advanced Imaging Center. This technology will enhance our ability to diagnose and treat pediatric patients with precision, compassion, and efficiency.
We are confident that the Wagner-Roop family would be proud of the impact this gift will have on children for years to come. If you would like to learn more about planned giving and how you can leave a legacy of healing, please contact Mary Beth Perrine at mperrine@mednet.ucla.edu.

If your child is seriously injured or ill—especially if the condition may be life-threatening or needs immediate attention—take them to the emergency department (ED). Seek emergency care if your child:
Your child’s health matters. When in doubt, trust your instincts—and don’t hesitate to seek care. LuskinOIC is here to support your family with trusted pediatric expertise every step of the way.
